Rooted in Values. Focused on Results.

"Everything I do in the Legislature comes back to this: what’s best for Idaho families, our communities, and the generations who’ll call this place home.”
-Ben Fuhriman
Gov. Little Signs Ben's Windmill Bill.

Ben Fuhriman brings pragmatic, conservative leadership to the Statehouse, guided by faith, family, and a commitment to results; not politics or headlines. His approach focuses on practical solutions and long‑term outcomes that strengthen Idaho communities. From protecting water and supporting local schools to safeguarding families and public safety, Ben is dedicated to building a stronger Idaho that lasts for generations.
Pragmatic Conservatism: Principles with Purpose
Ben Fuhriman believes in traditional family values, fiscal responsibility, and conservative market principles; the foundation of strong communities and a stronger Idaho.
But conservatism, to Ben, isn’t about slogans or politics. It’s about judgment, balance, and results. In the Legislature, he’s proven that being conservative means more than taking a side—it means thinking carefully, respecting due process, and focusing on real solutions that strengthen Idaho families.
Ben refuses to make policy based on outrage or pressure. Instead, he takes a disciplined, fact-based approach to every decision, always guided by his faith, his values, and the people he represents. That’s the kind of principled leadership Idaho deserves.
Water: Protecting East Idaho’s Lifeline
Water is the foundation of East Idaho’s farms, communities, and future growth — and Ben Fuhriman has been leading the fight to protect it.
As a proven voice on water policy, Ben has taken a leadership role in both the Idaho Legislature and the Republican Party, championing East Idaho’s priorities at every level. He’s organized advocacy efforts, carried key water resolutions, and worked directly with local officials and Idaho’s congressional delegation to ensure our needs are heard in Boise and Washington, D.C.
Ben helped coordinate a coalition of more than 30 legislators and community leaders to advocate in the nation’s capital for smart investments in storage, infrastructure, and long-range water planning. Thanks to his leadership, the conversation around Idaho’s water strategy now includes East Idaho’s voice front and center.
Ben's advocacy for water doesn't stop just in agriculture, though. He was key in making it possible for the city of Blackfoot to fill Jensen's Grove and keep it full for years to come. He stepped in and helped bring the right people to the table so that a deal could be negotiated that would benefit the Blackfoot community for generations to come. He knows that while water policy requires cooperation, leadership is what turns talk into results. He will continue to fight for expanded storage, stronger infrastructure, and consistent funding — ensuring that East Idaho has the water it needs today and for generations to come.
Education: Strong Schools, Real Choice, and Fair Funding
As a proud graduate of Idaho’s public schools, Ben Fuhriman knows firsthand the difference a great education can make. Idaho schools are doing more with less—and it’s showing. Even the conservative Heritage Foundation ranked Idaho #1 in the nation for return on investment and among the top states for education freedom.
Ben believes in supporting parents and empowering families to choose the educational path that works best for their children—whether that’s public, private, or homeschool. But he also knows supporting choice doesn’t mean weakening our public schools, especially in rural communities where they’re the heart of daily life.
That’s why Ben has stood up for local schools and teachers, while pushing for reforms that make education more flexible, less regulated, and focused on students—not bureaucracy. He’s opposed irresponsible spending.
For Ben, education policy should be fair, accountable, and built on opportunity—because the students we educate today will be the ones protecting Idaho’s liberty tomorrow.
Smart Tax Policy: Responsible, Conservative, and Built to Last
No one enjoys paying taxes—but every Idahoan depends on safe roads, reliable infrastructure, and first responders who protect our communities. Ben Fuhriman believes conservative tax policy means balance: funding essential services efficiently while respecting that every tax dollar starts in a family’s paycheck or a small business’s bottom line.
Ben approaches tax reform with discipline and foresight, aiming to make Idaho’s system stronger over the long term. Tax policy should reward work, investment, and growth—not punish success or expand government for its own sake.
Lowering taxes matters, but so does timing. Ben understands that a cut made in the wrong conditions can create bigger problems later. He’s committed to keeping taxes low, fair, and sustainable, ensuring Idaho remains competitive and our economy resilient.
As Reagan said, “If we want more of something, we should tax it less.” Ben agrees—and believes Idaho should always do so thoughtfully and responsibly.
Public Safety: Standing with Those Who Protect Idaho
For Ben Fuhriman, public safety is personal. His grandfather once served as Acting Chief of Police in Idaho Falls, and Ben was raised to respect the men and women who wear the uniform—our police officers, firefighters, EMS, and all first responders who keep Idaho’s communities safe.
As crises at the southern border and failures at the federal level fuel the spread of drugs, trafficking, and crime, Idaho must stay vigilant and proactive. Ben works closely with state and local leaders to ensure our public safety professionals have the training, tools, and dependable funding they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.
Supporting public safety means more than talk—it means standing with our first responders, backing them with resources, and passing responsible policy that puts community safety first. Ben Fuhriman will always fight to keep Idaho families safe and strong.
